Well it has been another great/fast week up here in Puerto Plata. Hahah we have been doing lots of fun stuff on the beach. Last Thursday we went to the beach to do some service as a zone. We went and picked
up garbage for a few hours. Haha the thing is that when people think of the DR beach they think of a place like Bora Bora with crystal clear water and clean white beaches.. The DR does have a few places like
that but the majority of beaches look like trash. Its not that people just litter, it looks like people haul their garbage to the beach to dump it there... it was a good service.
The work is going good here. We have a few good less active families that we are teaching. We also are teaching a little kid who wants to get baptized super bad. I wish that everyone was like him. The other day we were at a less actives house and saw a drug bust across the street.. the thing that is sucky is that the cops here are the ones who run the drug business. Their type of drug bust is to go pull the guys who are selling out of the house so that the people think that they are working but the drugs still are being sold in the same place, the cops tell them to pay them something and they let them go.. It is a joke.
Today we went to a sweet beach in Sosua. Beaches are great fun but when you are a missionary it kinda stinks... We just played volleyball and Frisbee for awhile. It was a pretty great day. I feel so blessed to be a
missionary and love you all so much!

Well how has every ones week been. Its weird because I feel like I just wrote like 3 days ago.. So this week was a good one. I am getting used to all of the Zone Leader responsibilities. The thing is that on the mission
people want to be assistant or zone leader just to get attention. Really it shouldn't be like that, being a leader just means that you have more responsibility to serve others and it should teach us humility. I have been learning a lot about service being Zone Leader because I get to serve our investigators and less actives, now I also get to serve and help all of the missionaries in Puerto Plato. It has made me think more about the Saviors life, how he, the king of kings came down to earth to serve his brothers and sisters. I really love service. We have actually been focusing on service and showing the true love that we have for the people here. I think of all the times that we had service planned for mutual and I didn't want to go.. but after my
parents forced me to go I never regretted it.. Well we have actually seen lots of progress with the members and having them work with us. We have decided that we won't contact for the next few months so it will force us to work more with the members and depend on them to find new people.
Today was a sweet Pday. We first went to an Amber museum. It was very interesting to learn about Amber and see lots of different types. There is actually a piece of Amber that is in the movie Jurassic Park with a lizard in it. Very cool. Then after we went to the old prison that they have at the point of the beach. it is super old and historic here. It is a good but sucky thing to see the beach every day. Its like when you put a bone on a string and hang it in front of a dog. Torture... Well other than that life has been great! I love the mission and I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I also am so thankful for every one of you! I love y'all!

Well once again this week has gone by incredibly fast. The first thing I want to say is that the members here are super awesome. Last Thursday we helped a sister who has an empanada business. We stayed the whole morning helping her then in the end she re payed us with empanadas, yuca balls and quipes. I am going to get fat because it is like the fast food of the DR... all fried.
We have been working super hard this week trying to find out how to get more references as a zone. I really feel that my area has lots of potential to progress. The first thing that we have to do is teach the members how to be missionaries.
As of now I have enjoyed being a Zone leader, it is teaching me a whole lot on how to be a leader and how to take care of problems. We haven't had too many problems here in our zone, everyone seems to get along. This week we have given a ton of blessings to members who are sick and also missionaries. It has been crazy to see how much my testimony had grown about the priesthood and many other things on the mission. I really can't even count the number of blessings the mission has brought into my life.
Well I did get a call today from some sisters who got robbed last night.. They stole a dvd
player, the gas tank and their hand bags and left the scriptures.. haha
that is something that normally happens here.. luckily I haven't been robbed yet, but I don't want to jinx myself.
I still haven't been to the beach to chill, I will next week. Puerto
Plata is great and it reminds me of my first area because I see the beach every day. Well this is my little
update for y'all. I love you all so much and wish that
you all have a great week!Luv Elder Morgan

Well, the first thing that I want to say is that Puerto Plata is soo coool! Haha just in the first week I have met some of the coolest people and visited cool places. Also all of the missionaries in my zone are super fun.
Well one of the things that I have never seen in my life that I happened to see a few days ago was that we went to visit a less active family house to teach them. The Dad is a harpoon fisherman. When we were there I saw a turtle sitting in a bucket. I thought that it was just their pet. Then I asked why they had it in the bucket. He told me that they were going to kill it and cook it for a heard disease remedy... I thought wow.. thinking that they were going to kill it in the future. But as we were sitting down talking to them, one of the sons brings out a pot of boiling water and yelled "Dad I'm ready to kill it now" ... and so right there and then the dad pics up the turtle and threw it in the pot... You can all imagine how it ended... I was just laughing the whole time because it was the most random thing that I have ever seen.. haha
Today was a super awesome day because we rode the cable car to the top of the mountain in Puerto Plata.. It was so sick. I could see where the ocean touches the sky.. there is also this cool Jesus statue. It was just the coolest thing ever. Well I feel that I have been blessed to have been sent up here. I love this country even though is it one of the craziest in the world. I love my mission and I love the gospel. I also love each one of you!

Well today was transfers.. I am finally in my last area of my mission. I am now the Zone Leader of Puerto Plata! I am super stoked. I also have like the best group of missionaries in my zone. This last weekwas a sad one because I had to say goodbye to so many people that I loved. It felt like I was saying goodbye to my family all over again. I learned lots of things from my time in Santiago and from all of mycomps. Even though these last three transfers have been the hardest of my mission, I feel like I have learned the most from them. That is one of the main things that I have learned from my mission, that you always learn the most from the hardest things. Its crazy being in the last chapters of my mission knowing that I will be coming home soon. That thought always makes me want to be better and work herder. I feel blessed for the chance that I will have to serve the people of Puerto Plata. My comp seems like a really cool guy. He is a buff little dude from Honduras. haha I have only had Latin comps in my mission so far. Well I know there are lots of blessings and miracles that I will see in the future. I just love the mission and how much that it has helped my testimony grow. I love serving people and knowing that I am spending my time the way the Lord would want me to spend it. i love you all so much! See you in a lil!Luv Elder Morgan
Well whats up friends? This week has been a very interesting/fun one. I hope that all of you had a great valentines day. For me it was a super awesome day. IDK why but I felt like it was one of the more special holidays here. That day I went to the store and blew so much money on gifts for people that I love in my area. Haha It was awesome because even something like a little chocolate would make their day. I am just trying to show everyone how special they are and how much love them here, knowing that this will be my last week in Hato Mayor. I have met so many great people who have helped me be a better person and am going to miss them all. The night of valentines we went to a members house and ate a Honduran dish that my comp wanted, then we had a gift swap with someone. It was so fun and I want you all to know that I love you!
Well this week we got a call from the nurse that we might be infected with something super contagious, so we all had a special meeting of what it was that we might have. We got there and she showed us a nasty pic of dust mites or bed bugs.. An elder in our zone has them so they were all scared that we might have it. We are all on a week long treatment to prevent it from spreading.
On Sunday we had our ward conference. We worked so hard to invite people to come so that we could reach our goal of 200 people in assistance.. We had 199 come... haha so close! But it was good. We have also been doing lots of swaps in our zone with a few Elders sick. It has been fun getting to know other Elders.
Today was a super sick Pday. We went to this river which looks exactly like the ones in southern Utah. Then we found waterfalls and got under them. haha it was a great stress relieving day. Well that is all I pretty much did this week. I really do love you all so much and hope you all have a great week!

Well this week has been a testimony builder, and a time for me to see really how much I have changed. In Santiago everyone is setting up for the Carnival. I hope that I am here to see it. I have heard that it gets super crazy.
Honestly, my comp and I really didn't do that much this week. We had to stay in for three days because he was "sick". He just had a few cavities... I have felt that this was one of the harder weeks of my mission. It was just killing me not working or doing anything. I tried to keep myself busy reading church books but I just wanted to go out and visit with some people. Haha Its funny because when you are in school being sick and staying home is like the best thing ever, but in the mission it is the complete opposite... It is the worst thing ever...
Also, one of the days that we went to the dentists I lost my wallet.. Luckily it didn't have anything important in it, just money.. I just hope that person that found it was in need of a few extra pesos. But that's the thing about the mission, it is the hard parts of it that teaches you the most. I have learned a lot about myself but still have a lot of other things to learn. It is sad to me knowing that my time in Hato Mayor is coming to an end. There are lots of good people who have shown me how to be a better person. It's weird to think that I only have 6 months left.. I am 75% done.. Only 25% left to give everything that I have. I just want to do my best to serve the Lord. I know that what I am doing is right!
Well I know its not much but I just want to say that I love you all!luv Elder Morgan
