My Birthday is October 26th!

What up world?! Well transfers were today. I got a new companion whose name is Elder Santana. He is Dominican so things should be pretty fun with him. Also they put two sisters in my district. I am guessing that things will be chiller with them. This week I had to say goodbye to two amazing missionaries that ended their mission. I love seeing a missionary end their mission going hard. These two were such good examples to me when I was just a lil youngin in the mission. Sister Navas was my mom when I started in Nagua up until now. And Elder Saucedo was one of my Zone Leaders who was always there to help us. I hope that I can be t like them when I  end the mish. Well I am super excited for this Saturday! Brenda is going to get baptized!! She has been the perfect golden investigator for us. She is going to be such a good member and example to everyone. My comp, Elder Simonis was pretty sad to leave this area. It was his first one, so it was special for him. We spent the whole day yesterday visiting everyone in the ward. He is a great missionary who just wants to do his best. I also have some cool news, I think that I have a few new friends in my belly..... Don't worry mom I'm not going to die...

Well I have been thinking a lot about the mission this week. I really am so grateful to be here. Even though there are times when it gets kind of tough I just think about how awesome my mission has been. I have met so many amazing people and have done lots of cool and fun things. The mission is one of the greatest blessings that I have received. I am grateful for the time that I have left to try to do and be better as a person. I have learned so many wonderful things that I would have never learned else ware. I love my savior Jesus Christ. I am grateful to be a part of the true church. I love my family and friends and want them to be with me forever! Thank you all for everything!

Paint Balling October 15, 2014

Well this week was a goodie. First of all my eye is a whole lot better. It got super big last week and then came to a head and you know the rest... They still just think that it was a bug bite.. but who really knows.

Well like I have been saying in my other letters, we have been contacting a ton because we don't have many investigators. Its also pretty tough to contact because we have a small area. But this week was a pretty good one. We found a few people that seem like they have lots of potential so we will see what happens. Well it looks like we will be having a baptism next Saturday! I am soo stoked
because I know that after this girl gets baptized, she will be a strong member for the rest of her life. It really is amazing to see people change.

This Pday was so fun. We went paint balling with four of the other zones in Santiago. Haha I felt like I was normal for a little bit. Its weird being a missionary and shooting people with a gun that hurts a lot. I felt bad and good at the same time. I wanted to kill them all and get them all out but at the same time I don't want to hurt anyone. I feel like I am changing into a girl.. haha no but it was super fun.

Today we had to say our goodbyes to all of the missionaries that are going home this transfer. Well transfers are next week and I am pretty sure that my comp is leaving. I hope that I get a good one! Also in my district they are changing the Elders with Sisters. So I hope that things will go good. Soooo yeah... that's pretty much it. I know that this is the lords work and am so lucky to be able to be here. I love you all so much!

A Weird Week

Gangsters and Mormons

October 1, 2014

Well It feels like I just wrote yesterday... but Ill write a lil sumpthin.. This week was a good one. The work has been kinda slow the last couple of weeks but is now heating up. Its good that i am here, I am learning a ton about how to talk to everyone. I never had to contact in my other two areas but now I am forced to. We have found two new families this last week that i hope will progress fast. We have two girls with baptism dates who are super stoked about the church! They just need to follow through!! We are also teaching this old dude who is 73 and is such a G! He totally knows that the BOM is true, Every time we are there he bears his super strong testimony. The only thing that sucks is that he is too old to got to church on Sundays.... It's a toughie. But things are going good.  Where I am at there is a group of gangsters who pretty mush all lived in NY but got deported for crimes. Haha I am super tight with them. Other people walk by them super scared, but every time I walk by they call me over to talk about the states. That one day they will all get back in and be pro rappers. They love to show off to everyone that they know English, but it is so crappy.. Haha they are sick. This past Saturday one of my investigators from my old are got baptized! It was so great to see that she finally accepted the gospel!  Well I am super excited for General Conference this next week. WE have lots of investigators who are going to watch it with us. I hope that they can feel the spirit and the power in the words of the prophets! Well I hope that you all have a wonderful week! I love you all!

September 24- Birthdays

Happy Birthday Mom!! I hope that you had an awesome day!  Well this week went by super fast! I think that this week was the most meeting filled week of my life.... Haha I feel like we hardly had time to work. But it was a very spiritual week as well. We had the wonderful opportunity to have Elder Cornish from the seventy come and talk with us. Haha the mission really makes you appreciate the words of the prophet and apostles. They really are chosen by God and teach with the spirit. Also we have the awesome chance to serve an orphan home once a week. We go there and do any kind of service that they need. It is super sad to see how many parents have abandoned their kids. That is why I am so grateful for mine. They have given me everything! Haha yesterday was the Presidents birthday. The missionaries in my zone decided that we should go sing to him. So at 630 in the morning we went to his house to sing to him. Haha Sister Douglas let us in the house and led us to his room. We ran in and found him with a "what the heck" are you guys doing in my room at 6:30 in the morning face haha he was pretty surprised. Haha I really have the best mission president in the world! Other than that the work is gong good. We are looking for lots of new people to teach. Sometimes you have to be creative to talk to people. Its fun sometimes. Well I love you all. HAGW.. (have a good week)...

September 17th- Hot Dogs

First off this week was a lot better than last. Dean Coffey is an amazing man. I am trying to be positive about everything that has happened.  Not much has happened. Last week was transfers but I am still with my same comp. We had a fun couples activity for the members. We made like 80 hot dogs.... I am so fat.. Mom send me a diet plan...  The area that I am in right now is kinda hard because it is small. I feel like there aren't any more people to teach... I have been thinking a lot about me being here for over a year. That means that I have less than a year left. I just want to do my best but for some reason IDK how to do that.. Today for Pday we watches Monsters University... Now IDK if its from not seeing a normal movie for over a year or what, but I thought that it was like the best movie ever!! Haha sometimes I just feel like I am out of the world. I know that it ain't much but that's all that has happened in the past week. I will
try to do something dumb or stupid or dangerous this next week. I love you all so much.

Oh Dean-o I Will Miss You

Oh Dean-o... Thanks for everything. In small words you have made me a better person.. I have so many great memories of Dean-o that I will never forget. From the great times in Lake Powell on the good ol´houseboat, to the great nights spent up in the Coffey's cabin and to the most cherished of all for me, the sweet moments of chilling on the lake fishing. Dean really was like my second Dad. Ever since day one of the Coffeys moving into the neighborhood, he took me in as a son. I don't think that anyone has a bad memory about Dean. I was over at the Coffey house almost more than I was at my house. In all of the time that I spent over there I never saw Dean in a bad mood. He was always cracking jokes with his distinct chuckle making everyone else laugh. He was such a selfless person. I remember times when Matt and I would beg him to take us out to go fishing knowing that he was busy and had other things to do, he would make time to spend quality time with all of his sons. I could go on for hours writing about how great of a person Dean was. The truth is that his unexpected loss has been extremely hard for me. These have been some of the hardest days for me as a missionary. But I realized something today. Being PDay I had a lot of time to think. Everything that has happened has helped me have more faith in the great Plan of Salvation. We just have to accept the fact that God has a purpose in everyone and in everything.  That for some reason that we don't know in this instant, God needed Dean. I love the Coffey family so much. I wish I was there to be with you all. Just know that everything will be okay. All we have to do now is make him proud with everything that we do in life. Even though I have tripped and fallen, I will get back up and make ol´ Dean-o proud. I will serve and live life just how he did. Happy. I send all of my love to Deb, Ashley, Drew, Matt, Chase, Addy and Cam.. My second family. Lets just follow the big mans example and love life!
